Sharing My Postpartum Depression Story
Today’s podcast is super vulnerable, but it is an important piece to my puzzle and it would be wrong of me to leave it out. You see, this is a place I don’t often like to visit, but I know that someone needs to hear this.
It wasn’t always like this. I fell into the darkest moments of my life after my second pregnancy. I was a child raising children. I was lost and holding on for dear life. I quit eating, sleeping and went through life in a boring routine.
Teaching was the light in my day that took my mind off of my depression. I found joy in a new lesson, a new book, and the time spent connecting with my students. Teaching was my escape, but even that was fading to black and white because of my postpartum depression.
Thankful That My Postpartum Depression Story is Now One of Determination and Life
