I think I heard people tell me why it was necessary to grow your email list for a few years before I actually decided to do anything about it. I really didn’t see the value in having an email list because I was selling on Teachers Pay Teachers and doing pretty well. 

Ever heard the saying, “You don’t know what you don’t know?” Well, that statement was never more true than when I finally decided to stop playing online business teacher and start actually living the life. Ya know – walking the walk and talking the talk. I want you to take these basic concepts and apply them to your business strategy for the new year and watch how quickly your lists go from zero to hero. I’m gonna share how to grow your email list using Facebook and how to grow your email list with Instagram and more. 

Does this sound familiar? 

• I need to have 100 products posted in my TpT store before I start on anything else.
• I want to grow my Instagram before I start my email list.
• I don’t really need an email list yet, I don’t even have a website. 

Well, I’ve heard all of those and more from my students and listeners. Here’s where the problem lies. You are living in a place of if/then when you have to switch your mindset to a place of do/have. Here’s what I mean:

Currently, you’re seeing your situation as a linear stepping stone that has to take this one path to make progress….like this:

IF I have 100 products posted in my TpT store, THEN I’ll be ready to grow my email list.
IF I start my Instagram first, THEN I will be able to grow my list faster.
IF I get my website going, THEN I’ll be able to gather email addresses. 

What’s happening is you are living life much like everyone else. You’re living in if/then – but I want to challenge you to snap out of it and start focusing on the life you want, not the life you have. 

Here’s what this might look like:

• I want to do all the things to grow my email list before I have 100 products in my TpT store.
• I’ll be able to do Instagram posts that will allow me to have my email list growing daily.
• I can work on my website today and have it ready in the next 5 days to grow my list.

It’s a really simple shift that changed everything for me and if you put this into practice and begin catching yourself in those if/then statements – you can grow your list massively in a very very short amount of time.

Now let’s jump into the 3 ways to grow your email list to reach 1000+ subscribers fast.

You know I love to say Action brings clarity and clarity produces results. So here are your action tips for how to grow your email list.

1. Make your email list your priority.
   To put it simply, you must make your email list a priority at all times. It has to be the center focus of all of your marketing efforts. 

• Are you creating new products on TpT? 
• How are you getting people on your list if they purchase? 
• Are you sharing Instagram reels? 
• Are you doing a webinar? 
• Are you creating a podcast? 

In every single instance listed above, you have to focus your efforts on making your email list a priority. That means, find the right provider and go ahead and get everything set up and the ball rolling. Once that is ready to go, you’ll be ready to take control of this step and implement it immediately. 

2. Ask yourself this question – is this helping new people find me or land them on my list?
   If the answer to that question is no, then ask yourself – what is the point? If you aren’t growing your list, your business isn’t thriving. I heard someone once say, the health of your business or company is directly correlated to the health and growth of your email list. 

Just asking people to give you their email addresses isn’t a strategy we use. Instead, we like to give massive value to our potential clients by giving them a big big thing for free. For example, creating an opt-in will allow you to give your customers a lot of value then you can share it on different social media channels and search engines.

• Share your opt-in and content that leads to your opt-in on Pinterest 
• Use TikTok to catch the attention of your potential subscribers

3. Find free strategies to grow your list.

• Create eye-catching graphics and videos to build your email list with Instagram. Be sure to brand your images with colors and fonts, so your audience knows it's you they are following. 
• Go Live on Facebook consistently and teach through your opt-in, encouraging viewers to download it. Think about the 80/20 rule when you are going live. What value can you offer your subscribers? What do they need to know about your niche? Walk them through a potential scenario that your optin can help them solve. Then encourage them to download your optin as a way to grow your email list. 

Taking action on your business will help you begin to reach more of your audience. Create a healthy engaged list. And ultimately help you begin to reach students and teachers around the world.
