We almost can’t believe it either; we’re at the end of our first trimester in pregnancy with our 5th child. SURPRISE! I am so happy to share this exciting news with all of you! It has been hard to keep this secret with my wild and crazy crew! It’s such a blessing for us to make it through the first trimester in pregnancy, and I have wanted to share it so many times on Instagram stories while chatting with you all! I promised myself I would wait until the end of the first trimester(is how many weeks? 12!), and here we are!
For some people, the first trimester is the hardest, and I think part of that reason is that most people don’t know you’re pregnant, so you are dealing with the crazy symptoms alone, including first-trimester fatigue! Oh my gosh, it’s the WORST. There’s no tired like “can’t keep your eyes open to cook” tired. Luckily, my boys just thought mommy had been working too hard and let me catch a nap a few times a week. As we all know, this isn’t my first pregnancy, and I’ve learned a few tips and tricks over the years! Granted, things have changed A LOT over the last ten years since I had our big boys!!
Below, I am sharing my 13 favorite products that got me through my first trimester of pregnancy. You’ll notice some of these products are tried and true by other moms or recommended by your OB. I hope that, if you are in this stage of life as well, you also enjoy the products I am recommending!
One of the first symptoms most people have of pregnancy is nausea, which is not a fun indicator. During this pregnancy, I battled this first-trimester symptom and was so happy I came across these tummy drops for nausea that I could purchase at Walmart! Ya’ll know I love my Walmart pickup, so I was glad to have something I could get local that works! Nausea has been more substantial with this baby, so it’s been a lifesaver to grab a drop when needed.
I am always trying to drink more water. There are many benefits, and it will help me as I continue to grow and carry this baby and nourish him or her. I have found that having a large container with water that stays cold helps me to drink more, especially if it comes with a straw! When I have more water in my system and am hydrated, I don’t feel as queasy.
Along with drinking all of my water, I’ve needed some flavor to add some variety. Adding these lemonade packets have helped me to keep down more water! Also, the lemon flavor has helped to ease the nausea.
RUN.. don’t walk… Go ahead and click that link! These are a must-have for any trimester (even pregnant or not). You all know I love my cozy clothes, and I have found myself slipping these on when I walk through the door in the evenings.
If you watch my stories, you know I’ve recently invested in Lululemon clothing. These leggings are some that I decided to purchase, and I am so glad I did! I have loved these for my first-trimester workouts! They keep their shape and stay up. I never feel like I’m having to pull them up constantly! I’m excited to see how long I will be able to wear them! Some women have shared that they could wear the align leggings all through pregnancy, and the leggings grew with them but still felt like a glove after pregnancy.
I’ve been super pleaed with this Lululemon purchase as well. I know we are not all thong girls, but these are worth a try! They are breathable and some of the best underwear I have ever owned and worn.
A friend recommended these shoes, and I ordered them quickly. They have been great for my first-trimester exercise and just wearing for daily mom and CEO teacher life. As I move further in the pregnancy, there is a high likelihood that my feet will begin to bother me. The comfort of these shoes will combat the aches that usually come with pregnancy.
If you’ve ever been pregnant or have had a pregnant loved one, you know sleep can be affected! Especially when that first-trimester fatigue hits you like a ton of bricks. I have struggled to get a good night's sleep over the last few weeks and decided to invest in a new pillow. I found this one made by Tempurpedic and am so glad I made the purchase. It has been a game-changer for my sleep!
I look forward to sleeping on this pillow every night! I no longer have neck pain, shoulder pain, or anything else since I made this purchase. No matter if I’m sleeping in my bed, at home, or in the camper, I make sure I have my pillow with me!
GUYS… This blanket! It was recommended by one of you! I should know by now ya’ll never let me down! I am so pleased with this purchase. I have snuggled with it every night while hanging with the family. Speaking of family, I’m thinking about ordering another blanket or two for Christmas gifts!!
One of the first things that your OB will recommend once you become pregnant is prenatal vitamins. There are many options available, and some women really struggle when taking prenatal vitamins, so you have to find what works for you. I used these during Asa’s pregnancy, and I tolerated them well, so I’m taking them again!
Taking care of my teeth has always been important to me. During pregnancy, my gums are always a little more sensitive. My gums were painful and bleeding a llittle, so I switched over to a gentle toothbrush early on and haven’t turned back.
You all know I don’t claim to be a fashionista or know all things closet-wise. That is not my area of expertise, as I typically lean more towards comfy clothes. But for our announcement, I wanted a dress. Red Dress was the first place I looked. Once I saw this dress, I “added to cart” and was so excited to receive it! I love the pattern, texture, and style of this dress, and, believe me, it will last all through the pregnancy journey and even into postpartum days!
So maybe this board hasn’t been a “first trimester must have,” but I felt like it was a need for the photoshoot! I’m challenging myself to use it during the pregnancy with some fun updates!
I’m so excited to take you along on this journey! Before sharing our news, I kept asking myself, “The first trimester is how long?!!? I can’t wait to share with my people!” I’m SO thankful for this fantastic CEO Teacher community, and I’ll be sharing more about my pregnancy and mom life on the blog and on Instagram. I hope these first-trimester finds are helpful for you as well. I’d love for you to comment below if you’re pregnant, too, so we can walk this journey together!
