If you’re wondering how to have healthy skin as a busy mom and CEO teacher®, I feel you. I can’t tell you how many different products I have previously tried while navigating my skincare journey, trying to find what works for my skin. While I believe everyone’s skin is different, and there isn’t just one tried and true product or routine for all of us, I will say that there seem to be certain items that everyone can benefit from. I hope these products help you on your journey towards healthy skin!
Drinking water has so many benefits, and it truly will help you to have healthy, glowy skin. I notice when I am focusing on drinking more water, my skin is clearer. Increasing your water intake will allow you to get healthy skin naturally at home. My Hydro Flask comes with me everywhere I go, so I can always fuel my body with the hydration it needs! As good as water is for your skin, you also need to limit the hot, steamy showers. Those showers will strip the skin of moisture and wash away protective oils.
I get questions weekly about the collagen powder I take for my hair, and I also recommend it to those wondering how to keep healthy skin. I’m not a dermatologist or medical doctor, so I can’t speak with any medical expertise. But for me and my own personal experience, I believe my skin’s elasticity and health has improved since adding this to my daily routine. And it’s something easy to throw into what you’re already drinking in the morning!
I probably should have mentioned this tip first, but the number one thing most dermatologists recommend (and I agree) to help you keep healthy skin is washing your face daily, even if you’re not wearing makeup. Washing your face helps remove all the dirt, germs, and pollution that collect on your skin’s surface. I have a routine I follow with washing my face and specific skincare products (I’m a die-hard Lancome fan!) that have helped me achieve healthy, glowy skin. I’ve tried other products that people have recommended and always come back to Lancome. I have dry skin, and my facial skin responds well to their products.
I’m sharing my routine below, but I truly recommend finding products that work for you! The main skincare products you need are a quality cleanser, a good moisturizer, an overnight cream, an anti-aging serum, and a daily sunscreen. You can click on all of the items below for links to the products that are currently in my routine. I will add that good skincare is expensive, but we can’t replace our skin, and it’s worth the investment!
Step 1: I wash my face with the Creme Cleanser.
Step 2: Rehydrating Toner works to balance my skin without drying it out.
Step 3: I use this Eye Make-Up Remover, only under my eyes because it contains oil, and I can't use it on false lashes.
Step 4: I can’t skip my anti-aging serum, Wrinkle Visionaire.
Step 5: Absolue Eye cream works well to hydrate my eye area.
Step 6: In the morning, I use Visionaire Day Cream, and at night, I use Visionaire Night Cream.
Step 7: Sunscreen is a must every morning!
What you fuel your body with matters. So make sure you’re considering the foods you’re eating. I’m not going to recommend a diet by ANY MEANS! But I do recommend consuming healthy, whole foods to improve your skin from the inside out! You have to decide what works best for you in your journey of how to have healthy, clear skin, but I will tell you that my skin was so clear when I was eating vegan!
Have you ever noticed right before a big event (or really, anytime this year!), there it is… a pimple! There are a lot of reasons we get acne and zits, but stress is a contributing factor. If you’re focused on how to keep healthy face skin, reducing your stress is essential. When I am stressed and have too many things on my plate, the blemishes begin appearing. This is another reason to make sure if you give someone a “yes,” it’s a “HECK YES!” To keep your stress in check, make sure you are building those healthy keystone habits: get enough sleep, don’t over-commit yourself, and exercise!
What has worked for you when working on how to have healthy, glowing skin? I know that this process is unique and personal to everyone, so make sure you talk with your doctor and do your research to find the best steps you can take towards healthy skin!
