If you’re looking for something quick and easy to make for fun Valentine’s Day Crafts then Hidden 100 charts are the way to go. I use these in my classroom to fill our time gaps throughout the month of February. If you love these hidden charts as much as I do, I also have a blog post on using these for Black History Month.
I like to pick a theme in February and continue that theme throughout the entire month. Of course, Black History Month is the topic and highlight of my classroom in February, but I also incorporate love and Valentine’s Day for elementary students. One way we practice sight words throughout the month is with these fun and no-prep foldable books. You can grab a few for free here. If you’re interested in getting the pre-primer version click here. I also created a primer version which you can grab here. Last but not least, you can get the first grade version here.
To continue our February classroom theme, we take our writing center and transform it into love and sweet goodness, of course. For our students, it is required that we start teaching them to recognize the dates of important events. One question we answer in our writing center is : What day is Valentine's Day on? What month is Valentine's Day? Not only does February Valentine’s Day make its appearance in our writing center, but so do the topics of love and kindness. This writing center take a bit of work to put together, but it still made my top five list of things to make for Valentine's Day.
It’s no surprise I added Pinterest to this list, right? Speaking of plethora, you can find tons of Pinterest goodness for the month of February. While you’re at it, come hang out with me on my Pinterest page!
Here are some fun and easy ways to incorporate February classroom decorations.
Last but not least, let’s make some fun Valentine’s Day Activities for Preschoolers! I grabbed these cute heart candies from Target, and you can find the pretzels just about anywhere. The big trick to this edible craft is to take one of the candies and cut the tip off of it. Have students place the hearts on either end of the pretzel to make a delicious and yummy Valentine’s Day arrow.
