Wondering how to get more streams of income when you have adopted the less I work the more I make attitude? I didn’t always feel that way. In fact, I was your side hustle queen. No one was going to outwork me at the end of the day. But guess what?

That is a sure-fire way to burn out– QUICK! 

I once heard James Wedmore say the LESS I work the more I make at a Kajabi conference on stage and I’ll admit – I kind of looked around at the audience to see if people agreed with this statement. While I internally rolled my eyes. I came from a lower-class blue-collar family. My daddy worked 80 hours most weeks in a pressed white shirt, board straight tie, and one nice coat. I watched him polish his shoes every night when he walked in the door as my mom cooked dinner and we watched Wheel of Fortune. He was gone before the sun came up and he was home just in time for dinner every night. 

Some days he was soaked from head to toe from sweat as he walked door to door selling life insurance, other days he was stressed and didn’t say much because he was managing a large office full of employees. Either way, it was instilled in my belief system since I was a little girl –

– The MORE I work the more money I make. 

My mom had always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, she often referred to it as her dream job – me on the other hand – I love my kids. Goodness, I love them but being a SAHM is NOT my life’s work. I am a better mama because I work. But I say that word lightly these days. 

Do what you love and call it work, that’s the secret to life. So how can you attract multiple streams of income with less work and more play? How can you have time with your kids, animals, nature, significant other, – heck even have time alone to nurture your physical, spiritual, and emotional side of life?

I want to help you set out on a mission to attract anything you want in life. And before you assume this is going to be another post about manifesting. I say that word because it is so hot in today’s terminology and has so many loaded meanings. This is a post on attracting income and fixing your mindset. Let’s go from the harder I work the more money I make to the less I work the more I make – secrets that took me years to find. I am going to give you the condensed version right here, right now!

I want to be very clear here because I will undoubtedly receive some emails or direct messages about this – I am a woman of faith. I believe in God and I do also believe that we get to create the life of our future. That does not believe that I am in any way trying to play God or believe that I can make the world do as I wish. Instead, I believe that if you fix your mind, energy, and heart on something – you can achieve it. 

With God’s help, I get to be, do, and have anything my heart desires. What is not for me, will not come my way. What is intended for me will always find its way back to me. Every moment of my life has led me to this moment. 

My life’s work.

It wasn’t crystal clear and it's taken years to finally get here but here’s where teachers get stuck in a vortex of negative thinking, doing, and ultimately having. Teachers are trained to think there’s only one way. 

It’s a 180-day cycle of teaching, earning money, and summer vacation. As a teacher, we don’t get into the details of attraction often because we don’t really have time to think of ourselves. We are spending our days thinking of our students, our schools, our admin, our lessons, our own families, and more. But you’re here now, and I want to give you 10 ways you can attract more income with less work and more play. 

Meaning, you can as James Wedmore once said, work less and make more. Disclaimer, I had the chance to meet James and speak with him on numerous occasions but I have never taken his programs or been in his masterminds. I think he is a brilliant man, but I am not regurgitating things I learned from his work because I’ve only spoken with him in social settings like backstage at conferences or in a small room full of acquaintances.

 How To Get More Streams Of Income And Still Love Your Life…

Let go of lack, bring in abundance.

But what does this really mean? I wanted to give some real-world teacher examples here to help you focus more on what I’m saying when I say let go of lack and bring in abundance. 

• Believing you can’t afford certain things like clothes, cars, homes, and more. 
• Checking your bank account constantly and thinking of new ways to save but not in a productive way, in a stressful way like frantically selling things in your home to save. (I’ve been there).
• Restricting foods so much that you have a negative relationship with them.
• Thinking of “things are going so right, I know they will switch soon”.

Let’s talk about how to help you rewire your focus on abundance, daily.

• Focus on and be grateful for small little things like blades of grass, clouds in the sky leaves on trees, birds in your view, baby smiles, flair pens, lemons, gardens, and anything that brings you joy.
• Thinking of ways to help benefit others.
• Seeing that anything is possible – if you desire a new home, thinking this statement over and over again – I believe my desires will come sooner than I think (I actually told my husband this last week and say it to myself so often.) 

We are finalizing our debt-free plan with paying off our mortgage in a set amount of time but I hate due dates and told him it will come sooner than we plan or think, he just smiled and said “I know”.

Listen for the clues on how to get more streams of income from those who have gone before you.

Ask for them and listen. I believe God sends signs. Some people in the woo woo space call them spirit guides but I don’t love the term. So I call them angels and I see them every moment of every day. Some things that I believe are sent to me as signs of affirmation that I am on the right track are doves, bees, rainbows, butterflies, and more. While working in my garden the other day and watching my baby girl pull up and scoot next to me; I asked God for a sign that something about this garden is the answer to life’s happiness. Somehow someway I could make this garden sustain success even though I had no idea what that meant.

Set your intention. 

Figure out what you want. 

• Do you want to leave the classroom? 
• Do you want to work part-time? 
• Do you want to work from home? 
• Do you want to stay in the classroom but find joy again? 

Set your intention, write it down, and say it over and over again to yourself to attract more income into your life.

Replace toxicity with clean and clear expectations.

In life, relationships, work, faith, food, exercise, happiness – REMOVE TOXICITY. Begin being clear and clear with yourself on your expectations.

• I will live a happy and abundant life that leaves me with no stress and beautiful moments each day. 
• I will find good relationships that inspire me and uplift me and I will walk away from those that don’t. 
• I will find a church that supports me and allows me to feel confident in my faith. 
• I will grow or find foods that fuel me with a healthy lifestyle. 
• I will do an exercise that challenges me to be better than I was yesterday.
• I will find happiness in every hour of every day.

Work on your worthiness.

You are worthy of this life. You are worthy of happiness too. You aren’t supposed to live your days filled with anxiety or fear. You aren’t supposed to constantly be wishing there was a way out. You are worthy of whatever your heart desires. Teacher guilt hits us in so many ways but this is something I take very seriously – what if you are working for a job that would forget who you are tomorrow if you decided to walk away. I don’t want you to walk away TBH I want you to stay because I believe educators are the most beautiful humans on earth. And that our students need us. Is it tough? Yes, and can you do it on your own terms? Yes, quitting your traditional teaching job is not quitting – it’s just the beginning. 

How to get more streams of income? Find inspiration.

Who inspires you? Listen to them. Learn from others and find your joy. Go all-in with their passion and start emulating and learning from them. Business coaches, teacher besties, really anyone who is going to help you see that your passion is worthy. That what sets your soul on fire is right where you belong. That is easily the best thing about our communities. Everyone (although on a different path) is on the same journey. And they lift one another each and every day. It is a truly beautiful thing. And I am so blessed to be part of it.

Develop your passion.

This takes time. You may not find your passion on day one. Sometimes it takes messy action to get to where you need to be. Then make plans to develop those plans. Find a coach that will help you learn how to get more streams of income. Find a teacher bestie that gets you and supports you. Lean into your dreams and share them with your family. Find a community that is going through the same path and journey as you. Then show up for them and for yourself. Your passions will develop as the journey unfolds.

What you appreciate appreciates.

Being thankful for all the little things in life. Blades of grass, clouds in the sky. Fancy coffee money. Whatever lights you up. Take time to feel the abundance and appreciate your life. Filling out a gratitude journal may be up your alley. I can’t stick to writing in a journal every single day. I’m not a journaler, and that’s OK. I can be thankful in my mind and that works just as well!

What you focus on, you get more of.

Focus on the positive. Playing the negativity over and over in your mind is not helping. Focus in on the good. I’m not saying that you won’t be faced with hard times. Life is meant to be played in seasons, but don’t focus on that. Instead, set your mind on what is yet to come. Do you have a burning desire to start a membership or Etsy store, speak in front of thousands of people, or create a unique curriculum that helps teachers around the world? Allow space to dream those dreams and believe they will happen.

What you want will find its way to you.

Whatever is meant for you will find its way to you. Focus on the good so you can create the space for everything you deserve in this life. Success isn't measured by money earned but by the number of experiences that make you feel unstoppable. Allow those experiences to flood your life with awe-inspiring motivation.
