Back to school ideas for teachers wanting to make extra money come in all shapes and sizes. The best advice I have for you is to get scrappy. Getting scrappy means caring about something more than you care about being comfortable. Your teaching passions are enough to help you care about sharing your ideas with the world, more than you are worried about being totally ready! Think outside the box, and create HYPE. When you are excited about what’s to come, your audience wants what you have to offer too!
I love thinking about quotes like the one below when I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with life and work. As an innate hustler, I’ve really struggled my entire life with downtime. Rest sounds great, but I get stressed and anxious when I’m not in my routine and working on my teacher business. Let’s just say this summer has been full of life – but I’ve been missing my job.
I have 5 kids and it’s not for the faint of heart. Some of you may think I have it all together. And I just want to say without our amazing team I know I’d be struggling to keep my head above water. So here’s the thing – what I’m going to share with you today is a quick and fast way to get over the money stress and be on the right track for your best season yet.
Back to school season is the highest money-making time for your niche – aka teachers like yourself. Some of our CEO Teacher® students make the majority of their income for the year in August and September. Which feels like a dream. But just remember that in order to have a business that allows you to breathe easy in the low seasons. It’s also important to budget during these HIGH-profit seasons so you can plan for when things aren’t as good. Disclaimer – I heard that saying a lot when I just got started (Summers are slow). It was like this fear phrase that I always kept with me. And it isn’t always the case that summers are slow.
June and July are historically low selling seasons for teachers who sell on TPT but that’s really it. Why? Well, it makes sense, teachers don’t care to buy lesson plans while they are relaxing during their summer off and binge-watching TV. So if you ONLY sell time-sensitive lesson plans and don’t diversify your income then yes that statement is true. But if you think about the 5 ways I’m going to share as ways to diversify, then you can start preparing today.
You could have your best money making 24 hours ever. And I say that with complete faith because we just finished sharing our offer for it to become one of our top-ranking cash flow days ever. And it was in the middle of July – a historically low month for the past decade.
Plan for the down times, but also know – what other people tell you is just their own fear-based limiting beliefs. Teachers can make money 365 the opportunity is there. Let’s chase after it…
