Congrats teachers! We’ve made it to April, and I love sharing my favorite April classroom activities.
Bring awareness to your Earth Day lesson plans and Earth Day activities for Kindergarten with these posters. You can send these free posters to a local print company or Michaels and have them printed on extra large paper for you to display or simply laminate these Earth Day ideas and post them in your classroom. These are free Earth Day Activities for elementary students. Add them to your April Classroom Activities calendar! Enter in your information and they will come straight to your inbox.

I’ve included some of my favorite Earth Day project ideas down below. We get started with an Earth Day poem and move into Earth Day crafts. Since I am a big tree hugger at heart, I love sharing different poems about saving our planet with my students. Here are just a few more Earth Day celebration ideas.
Spring is a great time for our students to show off the writing skills they have learned throughout the year. One way I like to do that is through the use of April Reading Comprehension Passages and Writing. These super easy, low prep books make a great addition to your Earth Day lesson plans. Add these tri-folds to your April calendar and download one for free below!
Join America's Coolest Teacher email list! (That's totally not a thing, I just made it up.) Hahaha!
You are a total rockstar. For real. Thanks for signing up and look out for me in your inbox weekly...but not in a creepy way. 🙂 XoXo, Kayse
Need a better way to engage your students with meaningful sight word game practice? These monthly sight word games are unlike the ones you’ve used in your classroom for years. Sight word games aren’t just for the month of April – they can be played year round with your students. Try one for free and check out some of our games below. I've written an entire blog post on monthly sight word games here.

If you can’t manage to get your students on a school bus for a field trip, I encourage you to bring the fun to your classroom. Inviting community helpers from your locality is a wonderful way to chat about different professions with your students as well as have some very special visitors. Adding a Community Helpers unit is a great way to boost up your April lesson plans.
Finally, another April classroom activity I look forward to year after year is teaching about landforms. Landforms for kids don’t have to be difficult and boring. The major landforms of the earth can all be found in this Landforms for Kids unit. Information about landforms can be found in vibrant pictures that can be used year after year. What various landforms do you teach in your class?
